About this museum

This is a curated front door to the open record of Ken Kesey, the Merry Pranksters, the Acid Tests and the surrounding counterculture. We don’t keep a second copy of history: we curate which pages belong here, and read the rest live from the Wikimedia projects.

Who’s behind it

furtherbus.com is a project of Sun & Rain Works, established 2005 in Eugene, Oregon. Questions, corrections, partnership ideas or material to share: art@sunandrainworks.com.

Where the content comes from

• Wikipedia (MediaWiki) — article text, summaries, and the links between articles that power the connection graph. CC BY-SA 4.0.
• Wikidata — dates, coordinates and image references for the timeline and map.
• Wikimedia Commons — images, always shown with author and license.

Improve it

Every entry has an “Improve this entry on Wikipedia” link. Corrections made there flow back into the museum within a day. Missing dates or coordinates? Add them on Wikidata and they appear on the timeline and map.
